The First Open Campus IT Strategic Planning Session

by Ron Kraemer 6/11/2008 9:52:00 AM

On Monday, we held the first open campus IT Strategic Planning session.  About 45 people attended.  My impression was that people found the session useful and people had many ideas about how we might improve processes and cover more topics. One of the major themes was “the importance of communications.”  In the end, my hope is that these sessions help us all work better together by building more relationships and developing a better understanding of our collective challenges.

Turnout was good. One of the challenges (at least in the group I was in) is to bring a broad campus perspective of IT priorities. Many of us focus on the work that is right in front of us. Which is expected. But to make this a campus IT plan, we have to look across colleges, schools and departments to see what common priorities we have. Not easy, but essential.
This is going to be an interesting process.
