Campus invited to shape IT strategic plan
Wednesday, July 23, 2008
The UW-Madison Office of the CIO is at the mid-way point in this summer's IT planning process, and Ron Kraemer, CIO and Vice Provost for Information Technology, once again invites campus to participate in the remaining sessions.
The CIO Office has had at least one Monday Strategic Planning Session devoted to each of the strategic plan major planning topics:
- Teaching and Learning
- Research
- Outreach and Public Service
- Enterprise Administrative (Campus Services)
- Core and Enabling Infrastructure
The sessions have been well attended, with an average of 40 participants each, who have been very engaged in the process.
Beginning August 11, the remaining sessions will be used to present some of the early themes that have emerged from each of these areas and to ask campus to affirm the findings. Some additional sessions have also been scheduled specifically for faculty/instructors and students so that these gropus can contribute to the planning efforts once they've returned to campus. Students and instructors are encouraged to register for a session. Some back-up dates available, depending on the response rate.
Two additional meetings have also been set, one on August 25 to discuss what campus is doing well in IT service what we should build upon, and a special presentation on October 9 from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m., open to all of campus, to preview the strategic plan framework.
Those who have not yet participated or would like to see the content of these discussions can review the session notes and/or register for an upcoming session.
