CIO announces IT strategic plan team leads

Several campus staff have volunteered to lead work teams that will further develop the IT strategic plan. Each team will be responsible for several major initiatives related to an overarching priority (e.g., supporting teaching and learning). They will recommend strategies for implementing the initiatives, identify needed resources, and recommend changes to the way we do business. Dozens of faculty and staff have stepped forward to participate on the work teams, and the new team leaders will soon be contacting those individuals to begin work.

Work Team Leads:

Aaron Brower, Vice Provost for Teaching & Learning, Ron Cramer, DoIT Academic Technology, and two other co-leads to be determined.

- Support teaching and learning with appropriate technologies and successful approaches.

Jake Blanchard, College of Engineering and Alan Wolf, DoIT Academic Technology

- Support faculty and instructors and build their technology skills.

Jolanda Taylor, College of Letters and Science and Sarah McDaniel, College of Letters and Science

- Prepare students to work in a technology-enhanced world.

Nancy Mathews, Gaylord Nelson Institute and Alan Ng, Division of Continuing Studies

- Achieve the WI Idea by supporting outreach and public service with appropriate technologies and successful approaches.

Carl Vieth, College of Engineering and Steve Hahn, Graduate School

- Support the research life cycle.

Steve Krogull, DoIT Academic Technology

- Connect researchers and research resources on campus.

In addition, CIO and Vice Provost Ron Kraemer and DoIT COO John Krogman, along with Brian Rust and Meg McCall of the CIO Office, will lead or coordinate other parts of the IT strategic plan, including core and enabling infrastructure initiatives.
